The Team

Kayla Smiley MA LPC
Therapist

Hi, I’m a licensed mental health therapist who specializes in addiction and trauma. I’m passionate about helping people heal from painful experiences and take back control of their lives. I believe that no matter what you’ve been through, change is possible—and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

My approach is behavioral and trauma-informed, which means I work with you to understand how your past may be influencing your present. Together, we’ll explore patterns, build insight, and develop practical, healthy ways to manage overwhelming emotions. My goal is to help you feel more empowered, grounded, and capable of living the life you truly want.

Whether you're working through addiction, trauma, or emotional struggles, I’m here to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as your full self. I’m deeply committed to helping you grow through what you’ve gone through—and to walk beside you as you create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

Let’s take this journey together. You don’t have to do it alone.

Your story matters.
I truly value getting to know each person’s unique background—including your family experiences and cultural identity. You know your life best, and together, we can explore what healing and growth look like for you.

I’m a therapist with years of experience supporting people through life’s challenges. I hold advanced training in areas like addiction, trauma, and mental health, and in August, I’ll be completing a second Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling.

I’m especially passionate about helping people who are dealing with trauma, substance use, or gambling. My goal is to create a safe, trusting space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered. We’ll focus on building your strengths, finding balance, and helping you move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I use approaches that are backed by research and centered around your needs. These include:

  • Helping you notice and shift unhelpful thoughts

  • Exploring what really matters to you

  • Encouraging motivation and personal growth

  • Respecting your cultural background and lived experiences

Let’s take the next step together.
Whether you’re just starting therapy or picking it back up again, I’m here to walk beside you on your journey.
